Call For Papers! 2025 Meeting, Elko, NV

The Nevada Archaeological Association

53rd Annual Meeting, March 21-23, 2025

Ramada by Wyndham Elko Hotel, Elko, Nevada

The Annual Meeting of the Nevada Archaeological Association is returning to Elko! We are thrilled to be partnering with the Ramada by Wyndham Elko Hotel at Stockmen’s Casino to host the event, which will feature the standard schedule of workshops, papers and posters, evening social and dinner, and the infamous auction. We are also working on some fantastic workshops and fieldtrips. We encourage meeting attendees to present a paper or poster highlighting current or recent research pertaining to the archaeology, history, or ethnohistory of Nevada. Students are encouraged to present their research in what has long been a friendly, low-stress environment.
There are two formats for paper presentations. The first is the standard 15-minute presentation; the second is a 3-minute presentation for a special “speed-dating” session held either Friday or Saturday. The number of 15-minute presentations we can accept is unlimited, but we can only accept 10 presentations for the 3-minute speed-dating session. If you are determined to give a 3-minute presentation, get it in early to reserve your space.
We also encourage you to prepare posters, which may be scheduled either Friday or Saturday. Specifications about poster size and other info about poster presentations is available upon request.
This year, NAA will award $150 to the top student paper and the top student poster! If interested in entering the student competition, please indicate student status when submitting an abstract. To be eligible, a student must be the lead author, but co-authored submissions are acceptable. If two or more students are co-authors, the prize money may be split.
Please send an abstract of your paper or poster (no more than 150 words) to Sarah Branch and Jackson Mueller, NAA Annual Meeting Conference Co-Chairs, at conferencechair@nvarch.org, no later than March 7, 2025.
For more information about the NAA and our annual meeting visit www.nvarch.org.
All proceeds from the meeting benefit the NAA.
