Society of American Archaeology’s Council of Affiliated Societies (CoAS)
We are part of the Society of American Archaeology’s (SAA) Council of Affiliated Societies (CoAS).
The Council of Affiliated Societies (CoAS) was formed in 1989 for the mutual benefit of all, for the advancement of archaeology, and in order to further the objectives of the Society for American Archaeology. CoAS is composed of representatives of affiliated units. The purposes of CoAS are to establish a forum for the exchange of information and to develop discussion and communication, both among the affiliated units and also between the affiliated units, the Council, and the Society for American Archaeology.
CoAS is composed of one representative and one alternate from each affiliated society. CoAS generally meets during the annual meeting of the Society for American Archaeology.
CoAS member societies receive The SAA Archaeological Record (the SAA news magazine), the preliminary program for each SAA annual meeting, and the CoAS newsletter.
See NAA’s submission and publications in the CoAS Newsletter:
NAA members have access to all of the above publications. Need a copy? Email NAA@nvarch.org to submit a request.
Want to get to know some really cool people and have an excuse to hang out with them and check out out-of -the-way towns in Nevada? Want to attend interesting field trips? Want to help NAA prosper? Looking to volunteer some of your time and have fun doing it?
Join the NAA Board!
We are a relaxed, close-knit group of people who are working to continue growing and improving the NAA and its mission. The Board meets or teleconferences quarterly and organizes the annual meeting, prepares In Situ and Nevada Archaeologist, and does all of the other cool behind-the-scenes tasks for the NAA. Great for students, avocationalists and professions.

Plus five non-officer positions:
