Call For Papers! 2024 Meeting, Las Vegas, NV

The Nevada Archaeological Association

52st Annual Meeting, April 5-7, 2024

Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas, Nevada

The 52nd Annual Meeting of the Nevada Archaeological Association will be an exciting one, with
a full schedule of workshops, interesting papers, evening social, the infamous auction, and much
more! We encourage all meeting attendees to present a short paper or poster on any interesting
work they are currently doing (or have done) pertaining to the archaeology, history, or ethnohistory
of Nevada. Students are particularly urged to present summaries or discussions of their research in
what will be a friendly, low-stress meeting environment.

There are two formats for paper presentations. The first is a 15-minute presentation; the second is a 3-minute presentation for a special session held either Friday or Saturday. The number of 15- minute presentations we can accept is unlimited, but we can only accept 10 presentations for the 3-minute session. If you plan to give a 3-minute presentation, get it in early to reserve your space.

We also encourage you to prepare posters. Poster sessions may be either Friday or Saturday. Specifications about poster size and other information about poster presentations are available upon request.

This year, NAA will award $150 to the top student paper and the top student poster! If you are interested in entering the student competition, please indicate student status when submitting an abstract. To be eligible, a student must be the lead author, but co-authored submissions are acceptable. If two or more students are co-authors, the prize money may be split.

Please send an abstract of your paper or poster (no more than 150 words) no later than March 22,
2024. Make sure your abstract contains the paper/poster title and author name(s) and affiliation(s).
Abstract submission is through email only (in Microsoft Word) to Andrew McCarthy and Victor
Villagran, NAA Annual Meeting Conference Co-Chairs, at conferencechair@nvarch.org.
