NAA 2024 Membership Form

We welcome everyone to join us: professionals in related fields, avocationalists, and anyone interested in archaeology, history, culture, language, and science.

Want to get to know some really cool people and have an excuse to hang out with them and check out out-of -the-way towns in Nevada? Want to attend interesting field trips? Want to help NAA prosper? Maybe looking to volunteer some of your time and have fun doing it?  Send ideas to the board and join them at every board meeting, members are always welcome to attend and participate.

Membership categories are:

Each member shall receive an electronic copy of all of the NAA regular publications for the dues year and shall have one vote in the proceedings of the association. Publications include the quarterly In Situ newsletter and the annual Nevada Archaeologist journal.

If you would like a hardcopy printed and mailed to you, it will be an additional $10.00.

Family memberships can include each member of the family but only one publication and vote will be afforded to this membership level. All are welcome to our board meetings, annual meetings, and any event NAA hosts.  

Starting in 2020, the NAA is offering two Student memberships. The Standard Student Membership comes with an electronic copy of In Situ, while the Enhanced Student membership includes complimentary registration at the upcoming year’s annual conference.

Corporate memberships shall assign one individual to cast its vote at the proceedings of the association. One of each publications will be sent electronically unless a hard copy is requested sent by postal mail for an additional $10.00.  All are welcome to our board meetings, annual meetings, and any event NAA hosts.  

Supporter memberships will also receive one complimentary registration to the annual conference for the dues year and will be recognized in the conference program.

Patron memberships will also receive one complimentary registration to the annual conference for the dues year and will be recognized in the conference program. Additionally, Patron members will receive one gratis banquet ticket for the conference.

Honorary memberships may be elected by a majority vote of the NAA Board on recommendation of any member (in good standing) of the NAA. Each honorary member shall have full privileges in the association, which shall last their lifetime. 

Our members are not only part of the NAA family but may also be part of local or topical chapters of the Association and/or join our affiliated organizations. We encourage our members to start local chapters in their areas and attend affiliate organization events. Please share your events with NAA members through our Social Media Coordinator so we can help spread the word.
Requests for new chapters or affiliations must be submitted in writing to the NAA Board, and will be reviewed at the next scheduled NAA Board meeting.

All members must adhere to the NAA Code of Ethics

The purpose of the Nevada Archaeological Association (NAA) is to preserve
Nevada’s antiquities, encourage the study of archaeology, and to educate the public
to the aims of archaeological research.

Members and Chapters of the NAA shall:
1. Uphold the purpose and intent of the NAA
2. Adhere to all antiquities laws
3. Seek the advice, consent, and assistance of professionals in archaeology and/or history in dealing with artifacts, sites, and other materials relating to antiquities
4. Assist professionals and educators in accomplishing the objectives of the NAA
5. Be a personal envoy of the NAA and responsible for conducting themselves in a manner so as to protect the integrity of the artifacts, sites, or other material.
5. Provide a harassment-free experience at all NAA functions for everyone, regardless of sex, gender, identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, ethnicity, religion, or age.
